I figured I would come join in as well. I started learning about linux when I decided that windows servers were way over my head and a friend, Coop, was nice enough to teach me how to host my own web sites at home.
I don't know nearly enough about linux but I am learning. I'm one of the other partners in the shared server at Softlayer. Altho Coop is the tech end of it.
I hope by hanging out here, I can learn even more. Liz
Well, after pointing me to the thread about the outage due to kitties, you KNEW I couldn't resist replying. In order to do that, I HAD to join, and so I figured I'd stick my head further in the door. Liz
Welcome Liz, I am happy you decided to join our forums. Feel free to have a look around and ask any questions you may have. I too ran Windows on my first server. I had a 1 year evaluation copy of Windows Server 2003. And I have to be honest I didn't like it from the start. I used it for less than 2 weeks and then I decided to switch to Linux.
I am also still learning as well, I think I learn something new every day. The great thing about Linux is it has a strong community and everyone is willing to help you.
