On my main pc I have 2 disk drives

I have an internal DVD rom which gets used when I have a cd or DVD that im not going to change (or just when im closer to it)

And I have an external DVD rewriter, I use this normally as its right beside the keyboard and I use it for burning DVDs and cds.

Basically the same, one for DVDs and another for CDs and burning CDs, I rarely burn things or watch DVDs on it, however.

I have two, also. One is an HP DVD burner that was originally used for buring DVDs and CDs. The other one is a Plextor DVD burner that is newer. The HP was one of the first DVD burners to ever come out and it's a DVD+R/RW drive. The Plextor is DVD+R/+RW/-R/-RW/+DL/-DL.

I have a CD/DVD printer and I found that the -R discs were a lot cheaper for the printable version. I would either have to spend more money per disc to use the burner I had, or I would have to get another burner. I decided to go with another one because of the dual layer discs that came out. I might as well have something that can burn everything.

I have three disk drives on my PC. One is simple CD-Rom , other is CD- Writer and the last one is DvD-Rom. I am planning to buy a Dvd-Writer soon. Usually I use CD-Writer only for burning of CD's , for only reading it I use CD-Rom and DvD-Rom ( depends on the type of disk ).
