D2 with the LOD expansion is how Diablo 2 should have been when it was released. D2 by itself is "ok" at best. But when you install LOD, the game really opens up.

There were rumors that blizzard had planned on releasing D2 with LOD built in, as one whole game. But the decision was made to release the expansion later on and boost sales along with profits.

I bought D2 the day it came out, and LOD was the same way. From there, I played it on and off for about 4 or 5 years.

My favorite characters are the paladin and the amazon.
