Default How often do you reformat your computer?

How often do you reformat your computer?

Mostly people do it every 6 months or so. However, I have also seen people who do it once every two months. I have reformatted my computer around two times now...once because my windows had an "error" and wouldn't agree to load and other time was because I felt it needed to be reformatted

So my basic range would be around 7 months or below. Nothing above that. If you do reformat your computer...how do you backup your stuff? Do you write it on a Cd? Transfer it to your other computer...take some of it on a USB drive? What do you do?

Please post your thoughts

Thank you.

Like I said in my other post, I don't "hate" doing it, infact I like it, so with that said, if I notice a small problem, like intense ad-ware, a small virus, or something that is just simply annoying, i'll tend to rollback my comp to about 2-3 weeks, if it doesn't fix the problem I simply format, and I enjoy having a fresh comp.

Once my computer starts to show signs of aging. Right now my boot time is ~10-20 seconds so I'm more than happy with that And applications open without waiting.

I would reccomend reformating, for the average user, twice a year or at least once.

How come? It's not really possible. You just insert the CD and follow the steps mentioned. If you still aren't able to reformat your PC...you should contact support.

Default Wonky system Recovery

I am using a Sony W series any anyone with a Sony knows it comes with a funky system recovery disk. I can reinstall the OS and change partition sizes but it is a pain. A lot of beeping and stupid redundant questions that make me think it doesn’t want me to bother it…

I have a drive for windows and apps, and keep all my data on my other drives. I re-format once every 9 months or so (essentially, whenever I upgrade my motherboard.)

Windows runs fine even after 9 months, just usually complains when I upgrade so its easier to just re-install.
