Default Will DDR2 800 work in DDR2 1066 Slot?

Just wondering if DDR2 800 memory will work in slots that say the Memory Standard is DDR2 1066. I have 12 GB of DDR2 800 memory from my motherboard that crapped out, and am looking into purchasing a new mobo that supports my current components. Don't want to purchase more memory, so was hoping I could use the ones I have.

I searched around and found conflicting answers, so figured I'd ask here.

Thanks.

If the slot of DDR2 1066 is same with DDR2 800, it will definitely work. But of course you need to remove your existing DDR2 800 memory. If you're doubtful, check your motherboard manual. Usually you have to see what kind of memory the motherboard can support. Good luck.

Yes, definitely DDR2 800 will work in DDR2 1066 slots. If your doubtful you can always check your motherboard specification, what kind of memory it can support. i know from experience it will work, but you cannot put or run a DDR2 1066 memory to a DDR2 800 slot.

It will work because I have done it, but if there is any problem you can always check your motherboard specifications.

I have done this in the past with no problems whatsoever.
