Just been trying working my way up with Joomla for some time, but can't really think about switching to it from my favourite Wordpress. I know they both have their advantages and disadvantages, but find ex. Wordpress much more enjoyable working with

Wordpress is GREAT for blogs! If you want another more robust site, you can also purcahse "templates" and modify them and tehm upload them to your domain. This was a good post though....GOOD basic informaiton for beginners. Thanks for sharing!

You can try building blogs from blogger.com , it is easier to create. If you maintain a blog then it could give you basic idea on how to create and run a website of your own. Websites can be freely created in sites like socialgo.com and lot more.

Personally I would prefer wordpress.com to blogger.com - but that's my personal opinion. Wordpress could be easily set up on an own domain though - that's always the preferred option! Always

Once your site is live, you'll want to think about SEO for it. Simply having a site online doesn't mean prospects can always find you.

what about custom graphics? cutom HTML? This is a good "beginners guide" though. Be careful, once you get hooked on web design it is pretty addicting!!!!
