Some of the reason for registry corruption are:


Loss of Power and Improper Shutdowns
Antivirus Software Conflicts with Windows
A Bad or Failed Windows Update
Registry Cleaners and System Optimizers
Remnants of a Malware or Virus Attack
Hardware Failures
