I like the reference to "pulling the plug." My XP shuts down pretty quick, but start up takes a good 3 minutes... I look forward to a new computer and Windows 7.
BTW, what bugs me about shut down is it seems when I do want it to go fast, Microsoft decides to do an "update on shut down" without telling me.
But I guess if they didn't, they wouldn't be Microsoft.
