I agree, without the apps the iPhone wouldn't be that special. But having thousands of useful apps was a very smart move on Apple's part because it lets people customize their phones to do exactly what they want.

I don't think I'll be getting an iPhone as I'm happy with my current phone, but I have been wanting to get an iPod Touch. You can pretty much do everything like the iPhone except talk on the phone.

Although I can see how it would be convenient to have everything together in one device.
