Post What Options to Choose For Your Dedicated Server

Once you have decided that you need a dedicated server for your site or sites, it is best to configure it as quickly as possible. Entering your control panel will provide you with a number of options for your site and if you have little experience in this field, it can be a little bewildering at first. However, no matter what control panel you have opted for, you should find them intuitive and if not, help will be at hand.

The first when configuring your dedicated server is to go through the server setup details. This can often be in the process of filling in forms, which many people whizz through quickly. It is advisable to take the time to read over the options and ensure that you are correctly answering the questions. Always be sure to provide a proper email address when you are filling your details.

One of the most important options for keeping your dedicated server secure is running an Apache update. This dictates the kind of scripts and commands that are able to be used on your applications and sites. This is not a difficult interface to work your way around but again, taking your time is advised as opposed to racing through it as quickly as possible.

This is also the stage where you can set up a number of packages which will enable quick and easy initialization of web sites at a later date. This is an obvious choice if you are looking to sell web hosting sites and space but even for an individual user, it can bring a number of benefits and doing it at this stage can help.

You should also take the time to check out the security center in WHM as this provides a greater level of security for your sites. After this, configure backups to your dedicated server and you will be in a far better place than where you started with regards to safety and reliability for your site.

According to me it is also advised that time is spent checking out the security centre features that are available with WHM. Security should always be at the top of your list of priorities and knowing how best to configure your dedicated server can help you secure your site as quickly and as easily as possible.
