Default Writing to promote your website

You can write to promote your website. For example you can write articles for websites and articles for ezines. Many times you will be allowed to include a byline and link to your website in exchange for your articles.

Yes, you are pretty right. In addition if you are capable of writing good articles, you can also sell it for a good price and spend that on advertising with a small banner on other sites.

True. You can do freelance work for companies too. Like SP, they were looking for Article Writers and were paying a nice $$ for writing articles. I would write articles, but writing on a daily basis is not my cup of tea..
Never thought of selling an article...you would need a website which is known for it's articles; only those types of website would purchase your article. Moreover, an article will also help you increase your SEO.
