Does anyone use offline marketing too
Even though I primarily get most of my business online, I try to use some offline marketing methods too. I think it's a way to reach people who do not use the internet much or who would not be likely to find out about my business otherwise.

I've posted fliers in street poles (that was embarassing) and in computer/tech/electronics stores (with the permission of the managers). I gained quite a few customers from doing so and now local stores know about me so that if they ever needed a paid service they can reach me.

I usually only do the offline thing when I am targeting people in my area. I live in the middle of nowhere, so doing mass advertising offline isn't a real option, at least no cheap advertising. I have a site for local bands that I hung up fliers in every music store I could find, plus a few punk clothing stores. I also have MyCity.info. I sent out letters to local businesses asking if they would want to be listed on my site.
Both of those methods worked, however, it only worked because of who I was targeting. You really couldn't go around and hang up flier for a site like this and expect a ton of results.

I never went for off line marketing, but it is true to drive the maximum traffic for your websites, off line marketing can be helpful also.

Offline marketing certainly has its part in the whole marketing mix. However, with so much emphasis being placed on online searches, I'd focus my efforts on building your brand online.

Mostly online but I've posted leaflets into my local area before (never again!) and I plan on getting other give out leaflets at the nearest major train station.

with the new Google Places changes, off line marketing combined with On-line marketing can sky-rocket a local business initiative. Check out the new Google Places and make sure you register your business ASAP.
