Default cPanel - overpriced?

Does anybody else think Cpanel is overpriced for what it is?

I mean, it's a good piece of software - don't get me wrong - but $20 a month for it? Or $1100 for a lifetime license?

Saying that, I still use it because of the lack of real alternatives that customers understand how to use.

Well it all depends, if your making $300+ per month off of your server then $20 per month is a small price to pay. But if your just using it for personal use, then yes I think its allot.

Price isn't such a big issue unless you host your own server and get a copy of Cpanel for yourself. If you rent a dedicated server, then you don't see much difference in price from other control panels like Plesk and Ensim.

Very true, but if its just personal use you can install Webmin for free. And save your self $20 per month.

I have used webmin and cpanel and I think cpanel has a lot more features available to you and it is easier and faster to use.
