What I had planned to do was leave the site online, but put a big notice at the top of all pages that any new threads, posts, private messages, etc would not be included in the database when the upgraded version was put online. Might be better to just keep the site offline and do the upgrade... Besides, no messages would need to be deleted from GC - I suppose the discussions in this temporary replacement for GC could stay here...

Might as well just do it all at once...we don't have GC around so we have this, which it seems that some of us are enjoying,and then when GC is up, it will be back, better then ever...
