What is it that you like so much about Kentucky? I've never been there before and don't know what it's like.
I'm from South Jersey and spend most of my summers here. I usually get to the Jersey Shore a number of times during the summer, which is the main summertime vacationing spot around here. The Jersey Shore has a bunch of shore towns, boardwalks, piers with amusement rides, etc. What I generally enjoy the most about the Jersey Shore, though, is salt-water fishing - but that is something we can do around here all year long.
I've been to the Tampa Bay area of Florida a few times during the summers. Nice area, great beaches, many places to go salt-water fishing (hopefully the oil spill in the gulf of mexico doesn't mess that all up). Only downside about that area is all the traffic & especially in August when it feels like you're inside of an oven.
