If you only have one computer you can either setup your PC so you can dual-boot the new OS with Windows or use virtualization. I highly recommend going the virtualization route.
VirtualBox seems to be a really good free virtualization software. You could also try Microsoft Virtual PC software as well, but it doesn't seem to be very well suited for Linux/Unix at least in my experience.
