Post Preventing DDoS Attacks on Your Dedicated Server

There are a number of steps you can take to lessen the risk of suffering DDoS attacks on a dedicated server but one of the main processes is to use SYN cookies. These cookies are very useful in blocking connections that have no verification. It is a well known saying that prevention is better than the cure and being able to block out any unsecure connections should reduce the likelihood of suffering a DDoS attack.

Installing or improving firewalls is another important issue for keeping dedicated servers safe and this is especially true when preventing DDoS attacks. This does not mean that a firewall will offer complete protection against DDoS attacks but it is likely to lower the number of malicious attacks on your server, which can help to boost the security of your dedicated server.

Adding switches to your dedicated server is another way of limiting and filtering DDoS attacks so be aware of what they can add to your experience.
