I was giving the merge some thought, and I said to myself, "What will be next program be like?"

I think that Adobe will release the separate programs; nothing will change. I predict that in the future the programs will be integrated within eachother, i.e. you'll be able to export your template from Photoshop to Imageready to Flash to Dreamweaver or from Fireworks to Imageready to Flash to Dreamweaver. The downside, though, is that the integrated products will be extremely pricey. Photoshop is already pricey; $600+! Imagine it's price if it were to be integrated with the best of Macromedias products!
