Toni, load the pattern up in photoshop (or something similar) and get the RGB colour numbers. Then use this site to get the DMC thread numbers.
Right now I'm working on a DS cover for my sister (I'm leaning towards Bulbasaur on it, or something Mario themed). I'm working out a pattern now. I'm also considering a Wii "cosy" for my housemate with Mario Karts characters on them (pattern here). I'm going to modify it a little so that half will be on each side of the Wii and I'll make something up for the top.
This site has been my inspiration all day. I'm all fired up now.
Also, if you're interested here's what I'm currently working on. I started last November, its for Paul's mum.
