Installing ubuntu
 

When installing ubuntu from the cd I downloaded, I got ubuntu to begin to load, and when I click the first option of install/ run cd or something i get the following error "Cant access tty;job control turned off." I have read everywhere about this error, but I have no idea how to fix it. Im running vista on my dell laptop. Any suggestions?:mad::rolleyes:

Are you wanting to completely replace vista or are you wanting to dual boot?

Have you tried to download the Alternate cd and install without the graphical interface?

Download Ubuntu from Ubuntu.com onto your computer's hard drive.
Go to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Burnin... and follow the instruction for whatever operating system you have exactly.
Just follow the instructions carefully and you'll be able to successfully install it.
