Adobe & Macromedia Merge
I was giving the merge some thought, and I said to myself, "What will be next program be like?"
I think that Adobe will release the separate programs; nothing will change. I predict that in the future the programs will be integrated within eachother, i.e. you'll be able to export your template from Photoshop to Imageready to Flash to Dreamweaver or from Fireworks to Imageready to Flash to Dreamweaver. The downside, though, is that the integrated products will be extremely pricey. Photoshop is already pricey; $600+! Imagine it's price if it were to be integrated with the best of Macromedias products! |
That would be awsome. Too bad it would cost so much. Macromedia products are so complicated, it would take a month just to try everything out. With that integrated with Photoshop, it would take a year :p
|
That's also a downside; the time it will take to release such a program. It will take time to integrate them with eachother.

The products are going to stay different. These are completely different markets, so merging would be of no use to Adobe.

I figure they will stay separate, but will be able to export among each other. That will be useful.

The security is going to go up a lot with the old macromedia products and it will be harder to "borrow" them. (Not saying that I do that). But yea macromedia all you have to do is enter in a serial # and adobe makes you go through a lot of security stuff.

But yeah, it won't be hard for Adobe to add more security to the macromedia line. |
