Total Lunar Eclipse
In just over an hour from now there will be a total lunar eclipse, from approximately 5:45am to 7:15am eastern time. The best view within the U.S. will be on the west coast. Hopefully us on the east coast will be able to view at least part of the event. I usually miss these types of things, but not today.

I had the view, I am on the west coast and... I wake up @ 5 every morning so i was able to catch a glimpse of it.

I only saw the beginning half, maybe around 1 hour prior to the full eclipse. The trees around here were fully blocking out the view by the time it happened.

I am confused about lunar eclipse.
I know that the moon is shadowed by something due to which it disappears. But not sure what shadows it. How does that happen? Whats the reason behind it? |
