local php web host
 

hi everyone, the thing is that i´m learning PHP (from the ground) and there are some issues related that i would like to be helped with.

1- how do i configure my pc to locally act as a web server (i already: install apache web server 2.0 -dont know how to test it-, download php 5.2, download mysql)

PD:i'm new in this so please be pattient

you could install all the various packages (apache, mysql, php, etc), but I'd go the easy route and install apache friends (AKA Xampp)

It's a great collection of linux tools that's really easy to install.
