A Good Programming Portfolio Design?
For my senior project, I am supposed to make a portfolio of code. With web design, you could just have little thumbnails of work you did and link to the real thing, but I don't really know what to do with the code.
I just threw together a Joomla page that lists projects with a link to download (the links aren't actually there, yet). http://hostingcrest.com/jrp/content/view/12/26/ I don't really know what else I could do. Think I should actually show the code online without having to download it? |
If any of your programs have interesting (graphically) output, you could take a screenshot of the output to use as a link.
I took a look at your profile and it doesn't look like thats really the case though :( I think you could keep the kind of design you have now, but have the title of the program in bold text, and a little explanation of what it does, or what concepts you are showing off, underneath. Not everyone who is viewing your profile will be a programmer, and in my experience HR people don't always know what a 'Polymorphism' or a 'Finite State Machine' is. If you can offer an explanation (and perhaps use other buzz words like 'Object Oriented' in it, then you might catch their eye. |
