Dynamic vs Static

How important do you feel it is that sites are now generated dynamically?

I understand that search engines do not always cope well with database generated sites, and that development time is increased as with cost, but the added flexibility and easier maintenance more than outweigh the drawbacks.

So, are you developing with PHP/MySQL or is CSS/HTML good enough for the time being?

I'm a fan of dynamic page generation for the same reason - user maintenance.

Granted it has cost me significantly more to have article and image directory systems custom made, but the time saved creating pages filled with text and images has been a God send. It also allows the site owner much greater control, which means they can update and maintain their site themselves. It might cost them a little more, but it should be easy enough to persuade them of the savings in the long term.
