I like the reference to "pulling the plug." My XP shuts down pretty quick, but start up takes a good 3 minutes... I look forward to a new computer and Windows 7.
BTW, what bugs me about shut down is it seems when I do want it to go fast, Microsoft decides to do an "update on shut down" without telling me. :) But I guess if they didn't, they wouldn't be Microsoft. |
You should check your anti-virus if updated? pretty sure sometimes I encounter for rebooting without notice I think you should replace your RAM in to new..will I guess I help you guys.thanks

remove spyware
use msconfig to stop programs you dont need running all the time. |
I recently changed my anti-virus program from AVG to AVAST. I find my computer starts up much faster, and shuts down a little faster. I would definately check it out.
Dhawk has a good suggestion as well. :) |
