Upgrade memory for Dell 8200

I want to Upgrade memory for Dell 8200 from 512 to 2GB. 1.8 CPU, XP Home OS. I have read that it may be a problem. Does anyone know if I cannot or should not do it?

Sounds like you should just get a new computer. 2 GB is just too low now.
