Your OS

What is your OS and do you like it or hate it?

I run Windows XP SP2 right now. I use litestep as my shell, and I run a theme called 'Nostep'. It's very clean and uses very little ram (~4mb).

My main pc has windows xp pro sp2 on it

My media centre computer had windows xp pro on it

And my file server has windows server 2003.

I also have a live Linux disk so I can use Linux on any of them if I need it.

Windows for me. I really want to run MAC OSX though. It's an amazing platform.

I use Windows Xp and like it. Most people use Windows because it's widely used and most softwares support it. I am waiting for their latest version i.e Vista. Will be interesting to see how it turns out to be. :)

I use Windows XP Home Edition. It's the best OS I've ever used and def. the easiest to use and manage. My second favorite would probably be Linux, but that's usually just for databases and programming.

I use Windows XP. I find it to be easy to use and reliable.

Like most people here, I use Windows XP pro with service pack 2 installed. I am eagerly awaiting the release of Windows Vista. Hope they live up to the hype.

I use Windows XP Pro, Mac OSX, CentOS, Fedora Core 4, and Ubuntu (PC and Mac).

There is still a lot of stuff that requires Windows, so I have to have that. Mac OSX has a Linux backend. I got it to do some designing and programming just to say I have Mac experience. It's not bad. It's a little weird to get used compared to Windows, but I like it.

CentOS and Fedora Core 4 are both test servers I use. Fedora Core 4 is the free version of Red Hat. That's really the only reason I got it. However, I definitely like CentOS more. It's supported more and overall a better choice for a server setup.

Ubuntu is the Linux designed Windows replacement OS. It's the one that most educational and third world country computer projects use to avoid the Windows licensing fees. It's not a bad setup, but I wouldn't choice it for a server. What I really hate about it and every Linux distro is installing files. Unless you find it in a repository, the amount of work it takes to get the file, unpack it, and get rid of dependancy errors kind of ruins everything. Someone needs to make an open source version of the exe file. Other than that, I like it.

Currently I am using Windows 2000 Server ( not got time to upgrade it ) on my Server and Windows XP Service Pack 2 on the clients in my cyber ( internet ) cafe. I prefer Unix based systems when it comes to hosting.
