MySQL or MSSQL ?

Hello friends,
I dont know much about these kind of things. I have used MySQL but never got a chance to check MSSQL. So I just want to ask that what is the difference between the two and which one is more useful and powerful.. ?

Thanks.

Well, I am not a geek at Programming; therefore, don't know much about either of them. MySQL seems to be widely used by most of the people so I think it's the stronger one out of the two.

MSSQL is MicroSoft's SQL server. MySQL is an open-source version of that. The reason it's more popular is because it's free. Also, there was major support for PHP (also open source). You could have everything you want without having to go down the Microsoft road. What's more powerful, I really don't know. I do that if you are cheap you go with MySQL, if you are going to pay, you usually go with Oracle.
