DOFOLLOW or NOFOLLOW for RSS News on Landing Page

Hi,

I have various landing pages, with each page having a news section of the chosen area.

Now, I've been reading that it's good to have 'authoritative' links out from your landing pages (I think mainly for Adwords but maybe it helps for organic ranking?) but I've also read you shouldn't have too many links out, as that will affect SERPs in some way.

Does anyone have an opinion on this please? Currently I have my news section which is an RSS feed, with DOFOLLOW to the external news sites (you'll see it half way down the page, Porirua News).

Links out affect your rating only when they are NOT relevant. In other words, is your link out about bathroom curtains and your main site about web design? Not relevant. It's tricky, but Google promises that GOOD relevant links (out or in) will never hurt you. I fyou are trying to bring an RSS feed in to provide fresh content, bring your BLOG feed in and not news feeds. News feeds tend to not be relevant.

Just my humble opinion....

Hey R@ZoR, thanks for that. I'm showing a blog summary on my home page. My landing pages are for various locations. And the news feed is news about that location. So hopefully Google will see this as relevant!

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Bob.
