QMail or Eudora?
Which would you prefer, Qmail or Eudora?
I'm currently deciding which mail server to use and it has come down to these two. They both have received good reviews and I can't see much that sets one apart from the other. Opinions, suggestions? ________ honey oil |
Well, I cant really comment on this one. My only email experiences is Exim (when I use to run a cPanel server), Postfix, and Sendmail. Postfix is really stable and secure, and if you are using Fedora, Red hat, or Centos. You can install it right from yum. I wrote a guide about installing Postfix you can view it here. http://www.linuxservertalk.com/forum...hread.php?t=13

postfix is my favorite. I haven't tried Exim, Qmail, or Eudora.

Isn't Eudora a Windows mail client? ;)
Haven't seen that in a while, hehe. |

I actually thought Eudora is a free download from somewhere, i think QMail you have to pay for? obviously you go on which will be the best but IMO i would'nt buy something that is just as good as being download. Thats just my opinion but you want the best so i aint really sure which one to choose from, but if you've had experience with them both then i would consider Eudora.
I think Eudora has to versions, 6.2 and 7.0, if you havent had past experience i would consider asking someone who knows more about them. |
Well i use windows aswell as linux and i prefer Eudora on both but thats just personal opinion.

I have used Qmail but wasn't excited about it at all.
Have not used Eudora - it is available on Linux right? Jason - what have been your experiences with postfix? |
I actually use Outlook Express. I used to use Horde Mail online but then I started using Outlook Express because I had so many support email addresses. It works like a charm for me. I can block spam, check emails all at once or one at a time. I can also set up custom folders and whatnot and set rules on what to put in each. For example all emails from paypal go straight to a paypal folder that automatically saves them after being read.
