The command failed to execute

Windows Vista Home 64 bit
MSN premium email
Just installed Internet Explorer 8.
Cannot open attachements.
Message "The command failed to execute"

Any way to fix?

What type of file were you trying to open? What was the extension?

Follow the below steps and it might help out.

1) First click tools > update and see if IE is fully updated with all patches. If not do so.
2) Then go to microsoft help center and try to trouble shoot it. That should be fine.
3) If not try reinstalling IE.
4) After all these steps if it is not working fine probably there may be any reason. Quit IE 8 and use IE7 or 6. Even firefox would be fine. I sit in my laptop for hours with firefox. I like the experience.

I am a real estate broker so many attachments are pdf.
I did some more reasearch and found this is a flaw of IE 8 but they are working on it. I uninstalled IE 8 and reinstalled IE 7 waiting for the correction.

My stepsons and their families like firefox; our multiple listing services (and I use four in the central PA area) seem to have and affinity for IE! :)

so, have you fixed it or you still need help??? :-)

Re: could not open attachments and supposedly by July this error or problem with IE 8 was to be corrected. So I wait and not sure ... so far found nothing on web to state it is corrected...does anyone know if it has been corrected.
