AdSense or 468x60 Banner Ads

I was curious on your thoughts on is it better to get revenue from adsense rather than sell 468x60 banner ads and charge monthly?

It all depends on your website and placement, to tell you the truth. It's always better to have a mix of both though.

Just expierement and see what works best.

Hm...

Interesting question. Ofcourse as mentioned by raudi you can have a mixture of both types; however, I would prefer NOT to do that as it certainly makes the forum look messy. To me it depends upon the website traffic first. How much are you getting for advertising another site. An average site with around 50/70 unique hits per day will get around $30 in a month.

Therefore, it really depends on how much the advertiser is paying for showing his/her ads.

I thought about it, and I came up with this: During the early stages, it's best to have a 468x60 banner. That's because there aren't many hits and AdSense wouldn't do much for you. As the hits increase, you can consider AdSense or raising the price of advertising on your site.

Fwks08, that would work great. First, offer a very low fee for someone's banner ad, and, like you've said, increase the price higher and higher. If you ever get your hands on a YPN invite, use it instead of Adsense.

I second that motion. YPN has far greater rates, and a much better service that adsense in my opinion. If you have enough space in your design for two banners, then by all means do both.

How do you go about getting a YPN invite or a YPN account?

Rijulraji, that would be great; to do both, I mean.

You can get those invites on SitePoint.Com...however, you have to give something in return to those people to get an invite...I would be glad to do something unless it's paying $$ as I can find someone who can give it to me for free.. :)

Ayways, RajuBhai :P if you plan to send an invite...please let us know...! :D Thanks!
