I've been listening to your online radio station for a while today while working on the GC server repairs... Good stuff!

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 10:55 AM

"Wake up" and "She is Love" I figured you'd probably like, John. ;)

If you guys want some requests played, I'm still here for another half an hour, though I'm near exhausted, lol! I've been up for close to 26 hours......

Getting called in to do a show 30 minutes before its start by a sick friend = not fun. :P Though the music I play is certainly good to listen to. :D

John 06-10-2006 11:02 AM

My niece is here, she just asked me to request "Scars" by Papa Roach. So if you could play that it would be cool. :)

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 11:07 AM

Don't have that one, but I do have "Time and Time Again," and "Getting away with Murder".

They ok with her?

John 06-10-2006 11:09 AM

My niece said "Time and Time Again" - thanks! :)

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 11:11 AM

Okies. :)

Whats her name?

John 06-10-2006 11:12 AM

John 06-10-2006 11:16 AM

She was all :) :) :) when she heard her name on your station. Thanks :)

John 06-10-2006 11:18 AM

[removed]'s sister [removed] just requested "Crawling" by Linkin Park, if you have that one. :)

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 11:22 AM

No problems :)

glad she liked it :)

want some Johnny Cash? :D

Edit : k, Linkin Park coming up :D

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 11:45 AM

theres Linkin Park played...anyone else want anything played?

John 06-10-2006 11:45 AM

Just removed their names from my other posts... I don't know... something about having my niece's first names there considering my last name is all over the place ;) Coincidentally, one of my nieces told me a while back that she saw one of her substitute teachers using the GC site... just thought that was a cool thing to happen.

Thanks a lot for doing those requests.

After doing this, I wonder if we should do something similar at GC? Maybe we could network with some colleges/universities all over the world for various radio shows and setup a forum on GC to manage requests, etc. That might be a good promotional thing for the stations, and also a fun thing at GC.

John 06-10-2006 11:46 AM

Do you have "Lose Yourself" by Eminem?

John 06-10-2006 11:56 AM

Tune FM rocks!

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 11:57 AM

On now:

Anything else before I close in a few minutes?

John 06-10-2006 12:01 PM

;) I didn't think Eminem was the right style for your show, but thanks for playing it. :)

highflyerlaura 06-10-2006 12:12 PM

hehehehe.....

You are used to American stations....over here with the Community radio network we play em as they come in....sides, Eminem is adaptable to a lot of different show types. ;)

And it was at the end of the hour so meh.....

Anyway calling this gig to a close in a minute or 2....the girls will like my last 2 songs.... ;)

Lauz.

tomg 06-10-2006 01:51 PM

;)

Sounds like a neat gig!

John 06-10-2006 02:05 PM

Hey Tom, you seem to have a few fans/imposters here.... maybe Tune FM would play The Real Slim Shady for ya. Seems that it might be fitting considering all the GC imposter usernames going on here. Laura, that's not a request by the way - don't want to expose your listeners to too much non alternative style ;) ;) I like all kinds of music generally. I know you mentioned Johnny Cash... didn't think you were serious, I thought I heard a Johnny Cash song on air maybe an hour or more ago. Not listening at the moment... I watched the movie a few months ago (Walk the Line)... it was pretty good.

DeltAlum 06-10-2006 03:22 PM

Damn. I loved my radio days -- as long ago as they were.

Actually, the guy who invited me to my first rush event was student program director at the university radio station, and I was working at a local (make that THE local radio station) in our small college town when I pledged.

[QUOTE=John]Hey Tom, you seem to have a few fans/imposters here....

Yes it is amazing isnt it!:D

Oh well when one is infamous on one site I guess it transfers over!

DA, I will be glad when G C comes up and people find out that You are 4' 9", bald headed, and wear shot eye glasses!

Get back Soon!:)

*giggles*

I'd probably get shot if I played that one...least at the time when most of my shows are on. I was serious about playing the Johnny Cash CD up until I found out that it was on loan. Can't play what you don't have. ;)

I'm on air again in about 10 hours time from when this post is made, so tune in again if you want. Its my regular morning/breaky show.

Edit: Talking about careers and radio and such, I'm presently looking at changing my degree to radio-journalism and getting involved in that area. My Commerce degree is just driving me insane and theres a lot of opportunities in the rural areas for broadcasters, esspecially in regards to agricultural news.
