Not a fan of the philly either. Much more of a club sandwich or burger kind of person. But not steak on a bun.... give it to me on a plate.

I sure love cheesesteak! It is important for everybody in America to learn English, that's for sure. I'm surprised that a restaurant owner is taking a more active approach toward making this happen than most politicians or teachers do.

When you think about that, it's sad that politicians and teachers don't take an active approach towards it

I'm just trying to figure out how a counter person would know what someone wanted if the customer didn't order in English. I don't know of any restaurants that teach their employees how to speak in a zillion different languages so that they understand what someone is ordering if they come in speaking Russian, French, Spanish, Chinese, etc...

I applaud this guy. I hate it when you go to fast food places and the workers barely speak English, they always screw up your order.

I think people don't take an active approach in teaching new immigrants English/encouraging them to speak English because they're worried that these immigrants would sue them for discrimination.

Um, no me gusta Pat's for that statement. Ageism much?

I'm glad that they're encouraging people here to speak English. Folks in other countries expect it of us when we go there--it's just common courtesy to try to speak what everyone else does. It's not xenophobic when you go to other countries and have to speak their language, so why is it labelled as such here?

It makes things easier for the servers, too. Good job, Geno's!

Give me Pat's any day of the week. I never ever want to try Geno's when Pat's is across the street.

Now I'm hungry. I want Pat's! Anyone in Philly wanna mail me a sandwich? :D

Which official language would that be?? Last time I checked, that bill was still up for discussion.
